Shop page subcategory

    Hello

    In woocommerce > settings> products
    Shop Page Display is either show products, show categories and subcategories or both.

    I need it to show subcategories only not categories or products. Is there a way to do this?

    I’ve tried short code and it works but the problem then is that the shop page shows 2 lots of categories and products. So I would need to to some how let me shortcode override the default shop page code.

    Any ideas?

    That doesn’t make much sense. When the option says “show categories and subcategories” it means its showing whatever level of category is next. You cannot skip a level and go straight to the top level cats children.

    Sorry I didn’t explain my self very well.

    I have 2 categories: By Category and By Condition. These both have subcategories.

    By Category > Beauty, Detox
    By Condition > Skin, Join Pain

    The subcategories can have the same product.

    If I set the Shop Page Display is either show categories and subcategories it only brings up By Category and By Condition.

    Ideally I need it to bring up only the subcategories of By Category not the By Category itself or By Condition category and it’s subcategories.

    I can use short code to achieve this: [product_categories parent=”14″] but that would mean using a different shop page (because the default category shop page already brings up default categories). So I need to either change the default code on the shop page so my short code is the only thing that works or use a new shop page.

    I hope that makes sense?

    I don’t think you could do that. You could show products, but LINK to the two category archives. If you enable showing subcats at category level, those archives will list the sub cats as you want.
