shop manager denied access

If I understand it correctly you created a user with a shop manager role however, shop managers are not able to access the WP dashboard area – correct?

By default, WooCommerce doesn’t control the user access for WP dashboard area, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status to understand how your site is configured? It is possible this restriction is added by your plugin or theme. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Here is the status report. I know that woo commerce did not set this restriction. but it is set by dont-know-who and dont-know-where so I can reverse or remove it.

Thanks for sending over that report.

I would suggest to check if this issue might be caused by your theme, or possibly a third-party plugin, by doing a full conflict test:?https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

The best way to determine if the issue is being caused by a theme and/or plugin is to do the following:
– Temporarily switch your theme back to a default?theme, such as Storefront.
– Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce.
– Clear your browser cache, and the cache on your site if you have one there.
– Test to see if the issue has been resolved.

If that resolves the issue, then one-by-one you can switch back your theme and re-enable your plugins, testing in between, until the problem appears again. This will then give you an idea about which plugin is the one causing the conflict.

Thanks everyone. I have found the culprit. There is a plugin that does try to control user access to the wp-admin tool bar, and this might be a class of plugins, that controls members access to site content. They have an option that denies toolbar access to non-admin rolls instead of denying access to users that it has created. By this stand they affect control over users that are not theirs. The plugin is Simple membership. I have changed the offending code to deny access to a role that we use for their users only. unfortunately I will have to maintain that change in each new release until their mindset conforms.
