Shipstation/WooCommerce Integration Broken Randomly

    Sometime in the past month, our shipstation integration stopped syncing for one of our websites. This website has a very low visitor percent, so we didnt have any urgency to fix it.

    At that same time, the SSL expired.

    We have now updated the SSL certificate and are trying to get the shipstation integration to start working again.

    When testing the connection with the HTTP URL, I get this error message:

    “We received an error testing the WooCommerce store: The underlying connection was closed: The connection was closed unexpectedly.”

    When testing the connection with the HTTPS URL, I get this error:

    “We received an error testing the WooCommerce store: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.”

    WC Version: 2.6.14

    This version of WooCommerce is over 4 years old, so I suspect that part of the problem here is that your site is simply very far behind on upgrading WordPress, WooCommerce, and other plugins and themes.

    I would suggest working with your host (or your developer, if you have one) to first update everything on the site to the latest version, then update PHP to at least version 7.0.

    If the 403 error still occurs after that, I would start investigating any security-related plugins you have, or security systems your host has in place. A 403 error essentially means that something is blocking ShipStation from connecting properly. Most often this is some sort of firewall or security thing.
