Google is giving me errors saying that the shipping cost on the website and the shipping cost on the product feed don’t match. The shipping rate on our website uses the Advanced Costs feature in Woocommerce, as detailed here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/flat-rate-shipping/.

After some testing, I’ve learned the following:

Google is only recognizing flat rates by themselves or the flat rate portion of a formula, e.g. $10, $15, $20.
Google is not recognizing the shortcodes that Woocommerce uses in it’s formulas, e.g. [qty], [fee].

Is this a known issue with Woocommerce and Google Merchant Center, or is something not working right that I need to keep troubleshooting? Has anyone else had this problem and worked out a solution?

    Thanks

The expected shipping cost is $21.90
    The shipping class is “Medium”

    Hi,

We have replicated all your shipping settings on one of our testing websites and are able to get a shipping cost of USD 21.90. The reason you are not getting this is because you have set the tax status for your shipping methods on “taxable”. So our plugin will add TAX on top of the USD 21.90

When you put the tax status to “none”, like this:

A product with a price of USD 69 and medium shipping class will get the USD 21.90 exactly: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ep1cv0yquvezurh/tax-shipping.png?dl=0

    Hope this helps?

I see, thank you for your help. There’s one problem, however: Sales tax IS charged for all orders, including shipping, that are shipped within state borders. I’ve included a link to my tax settings within woocommerce that shows this setup: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JSbTNDK3ct_e4KPgp8EyC-g4a4Qf2B8-?usp=sharing

As you can see, woocommerce knows we’re in Texas, and it bases whether or not to charge sales tax on the shipping destination. If it’s going anywhere within the state of Texas, it’s taxed, everywhere else, it isn’t. I tried unchecking the “taxable” option in my shipping setup, but that simply turns off all shipping taxes.

When sales tax is charged for all orders then your shipping costs including tax can’t be USD 21,90 either I guess? It will be USD 21,90 * 1,0825 = USD 23,706 ?

If the shipping destination is within the state of Texas, then yes, it would be taxed, and the amount would be $23.70, but if the shipping destination to another state in the US, outside of Texas, then it is not taxed and would be 21.90. The default shipping/tax options in Woocommerce allow for this setup, and it doesn’t have any problem switching tax on/off depending on the destination address.
