Do you use WooCommerce’s default shipping options (flat rate, free shipping, etc.), or do you use a third-party plugin to handle your shipping options in a more advanced way? (And if so, what are you using?)
We mostly use this FedEx plugin (https://www.pluginhive.com/product/woocommerce-fedex-shipping-plugin-with-print-label/), but also have certain items set up with flat rate that are heavy, local pickup, and free shipping over X price depending on region. We use the Advanced Shipping Packages plugin to define that logic (https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-advanced-shipping-packages/).
I don’t have the functionality on the live website or staging right now to show you, but overall I’d say we have a more complicated shipping set up for this site than other WooCommerce sites I’ve worked on.
Shipping main page / zones: https://prnt.sc/zm9CqdCZaCvv
Example shipping zone: https://prnt.sc/OI_XkBVZFr9W (FedEx doesn’t show up as a method on the zones with the plugin we use)
Fedex doesn’t have a shipping zone, it’s managed on its own settings page: https://prnt.sc/6FGtXNXpm_20
That FedEx plugin has a fallback value of $16 if it can’t verify an address to get a quoted price. It either has that or $0 for shipping costs on test orders I’ve made.
I think it’s a lot for me to ask to fix my specific issue, but I’m more interested in what does work that I can try or what limitations would be reasonable to expect. I’m willing to try a different FedEx plugin or other options. The documentation and troubleshooting don’t really go over real time rates for Digital Wallets so any clarification on how I can work within the plugin’s digital wallet implementation would be very helpful.
Thanks for getting back to me!
