• I am using Woocommerce with the Wootique theme on my wife’s website (cozycuddles.com) and I have just setup the Shipping Zones in the new version of Woocommerce.
When a customer goes in and orders a product and goes to the Checkout page, the shipping shows as ‘unknown’ which is as expected, as they haven’t entered an address yet. However, when they DO enter the address in either billing, or shipping (we’re keying the shipping cost from the shipping address) the shipping cost does not get updated. It appears they have to toggle the “Ship to a different address?” box and then the shipping amount is updated. The same goes for when a state/province is changed.
(If you want to test, we have three zones setup — Ontario, the rest of Canada, and the USA.)
How can we get the shipping amount to update dynamically as the state/province is changed?

Should do this when the address fields are all completed. Are they all filled?

I think I found the culprit! Woocommerce Checkout Manager!!!
If I disable it, the system behaves as expected, but when I re-enable it, the shipping doesn’t get updated.
Now to figure out how to get the extra fields I used WC Checkout Manager for without using the Plugin.

Sorry to bother you again on this matter, but to me this seems a huge lack of usability (it’s even a problem that I am experiencing right now).

    EXAMPLE:
If the user fills in correctly all the address fields but select the wrong billing state from the select then the shipping cost will be calculated with the wrong billing state.

The user then will logically correct his choice in the select that actually won’t trigger a shipping update cost.
To be triggered the user should go and type random characters in the other shipping fields, which IMO is not acceptable.

To me the billing state select should always trigger a shipping update. What do you guys think?
    Best regards

@ulimc – Your are very, very right. Ordinary users are not aware that they should fill all the information and the issue you described is a very common scenario.
