    Hi,

I’ve been playing with your plugin and am impressed with the capabilities so far. I do see some issues though.

For instance, numerous shipping classes are created for the various products but none of the shipping classes actually get assigned to the products in woocommerce when you look at the woocommerce product setting – is this correct?

I also had an issue with the products being assigned to the wrong woocommerce categories – if the woocommerce categories did not exist already. found that if you first create the categories in woocommerce it will assign them correctly though.

    Cheers,
    Mark

    Hi!

Thank you for your interest in our plugin.

Shipping classes… when you went to one of the created product’s pages, did you check the product’s assigned shipping classes or each variant’s ones? The classes should get assigned to variants, while the products themselves are untouched. This allows us for greater flexibility.

As for the categories, I don’t completely understand your issue, so let me explain how it is intended to work. Kite has its own categories that may or may not coincide with yours (since you choose yours yourself). In your admin dashboard, under “Kite.ly Merch” > “Settings” > “Categories” you can assign your own categories to ours.

For example, if you set “XYZ” (a category that you already have) to “Apparel”, it means that all new products that Kite labels as “Apparel” would be labeled as “XYZ” when added to your store. There is also a convenience setting “Create on save” which can create for you those product categories that you don’t already have. Please see the help (top right corner of the dashboard) for further details.

If any of these don’t work for you as I have explained here, please let us know what you did and what was the result, and we’ll do our best to help you with it.

    Kind regards,

    V.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply..so it looks like there is something wierd going on. The Kite products are being added as “Simple Products” rather than “Variable Products”. So when i manually switch the product to variable, I seem to get the proper shipping class.

    A follow up issue:
When i try to make the Size and Colour variants visible on the product page, I have so far only gotten the color variant to appear – despite selecting the make visible box for both variants. I’ll look into that one more.

    And another:
Under settings – for shipping – when I map my shipping zone to yours, the shipping classes are created. If you leave the shipping settings page and then go back – the shipping zone mapping settings set earlier, no longer appear (just fyi).

    This one is intermitant:
Fo mapping the product categories – I created a parent category and child categories that align with Kites and have mapped them that way on the category tab. For some reason, the Kite products sometimes get assigned to the wrong woocommerce category (Apparal from Kite getting mapped to Accessories in Woocommerce). I haven’t figured out if that is something coded wrong or if I have messed something up as I have added and removed the plugin several times.

    Thats all for now,
    Cheers,

This is very strange, as we’ve never had anything similar to your issues (not on our computers, not reported from any of our users). Please, remove the plugin completely (“Kite.ly Merc” > “Tools” > “Uninstall” (the last “tool”)), reinstall it, and see if it behaves better.

If it doesn’t (and, honestly, I don’t see why it should, but I want to make sure we’re working with a fresh install), let me know what your WooCommerce version is. Most of what you describe sounds like they’ve changed something and I should test with that specific version in order to try to recreate the problem.

    Hi,

Thanks. I’ll try it again later today.

I am using woocommerce version 3.0.5 and WP version 4.7.4.

I’ve tested the current version of the plugin with WooCommerce 3.0.5. “Fast products publishing” seems to work fine, but if you turn that off in the plugin’s settings, problems ensue.

This method of adding products is based on WooCommerce’s REST interface which was supposed to be resilient to changes (i.e., backwards compatible), but it seems that it’s not. We’ll look into it further in the next few days to see what was changed in new versions of WC and how we can work around it. Until then, please add your products with “Fast products publishing” turned on.

    Hi,
I removed the plugin and data and reinstalled, with “fast products publishing” and I still get all the same errors – including “Simple Products” being created and products being assigned to the incorrect category.

I’ll check back in a few months to see if its working properly for others. For my install anyway, its not working.

    Cheers,
    Mark
