We are trying to determine if shipping rates for UPS will accommodate our needs. We have to calculate the shipping cost/packaging following this product matrix:
    1 Quart – 2.75 lbs – box size 7x7x10
    1 Gallon 8.75 lbs – box size 12x7x12

    2 Quarts 5.5LB
    3 Quarts 2.75LB
    4 Quarts 11 LBs

    2 Gallons 17.7LB
    3 Gallons 26.25 LB
    4 Gallons 35 LB

7x7x10 Box holds up to 4 quarts
12x7x12 Box holds up to 6 quarts or 2 Gallons

This (or something similar) should be pretty typical for most sales stations, yet we are having some trouble finding the right solution.

    Hi @rabner,

Thanks for reaching out. Indeed, our plugin can calculate UPS shipping rates based on the total weight of the order. So, there won’t be any issues when someone orders any combination of the above products.

If you’d like to have more features e.g. automatic box packing for multiple products based on weight and volume, then please have a look at our PRO version.

Did you already try our free version? If there’s any particular issue or error message, we’re happy to help you via this forum.

    Kind regards,
    Piotrek

I’m having a related issue. My products are small and light but there’s a minimum dollar amount in order to purchase. Given this, several of the small products will fit into a box that is much smaller than the individual product x the dollar amount required to purchase. For example, if I have a pen it’s obviously pretty small. But if I add its dimensions to shipping and then combine that with other products to meet the $25 minimum needed to checkout, I seem to be offered UPS shipping rates that are much too high. Instead of multiple small boxes all these products would fit in a single box and the shipping cost would be lower.

Do I need a different plugin to account for all this or how should I be thinking about this so the shipping fees are accurate? And, do I enter the product’s dimensions and weight exclusive of the box it will be in or should I include the box dimensions and weight?

    Hi @bionicsquid,

I believe that the Parcel Packing Method: Pack into custom boxes option might be the solution you are looking for. However, since it is a feature available only in the UPS Live Rates PRO version and this forum is dedicated only to the free one, according to the ToS we are not supposed to discuss the PRO features here. If you need some more information on how it works and how to set it up, please contact us directly at https://octolize.com/support/. You can also try all our plugins live using our DEMO environment.

    Kind regards,

I was finally able to obtain authorization from the client and purchase the plugin. I purchased the Complete UPS Integration Bundle. Have I purchased the correct product based on our previous exchanges? I’m seeing a plug in called Flexible Shipping that appears to offer a different set of features. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
