shipping address as an option instead of being mandatory

    I know about the plugin to hide the shipping address fields altogether, but what about giving the option to customer to not give their address because they are picking up the product. How can I do that?

    Hi @prisqua,

    WooCommerce comes with a Local Pickup shipping option out of the box.

    However, because Local Pickup will need to be added as a shipping method inside a shipping zone, customers will still need to provide a shipping address at checkout – so that the plugin can check what methods for shipping are available to them.

    Without using custom code, one way to make this flow better for customers, would be to configure your store to default to using the customer’s billing address as the shipping address. When that option is selected, must themes hide the shipping options, and they are only displayed if the customer selects to enter a shipping address that is different to the billing address.

    This can be configured from WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping options.

    Thank you for this info. I guess I’ll need custom coding because this is an issue where a small minority of people do not want to input their address at all.

    @prisqua I’m afraid so. If this is a requirement for your site, I’d definitely recommend looking into the possibility of custom coding.
