    Hi,

Every users of Printful must have this issue and I found a lot of comments/requests about it but with no solution. Let me resume it and All try to find a real solution within this topic.

Problem : The tracking info returned by Printful to Woocommerce is being added to “order notes” instead of the “shipment tracking order meta fields”.

As a result, the email notifications to client will never include shipment tracking details and it will also never be available on order details in the “My account” page.

The only solution is that we have to add manually Printful notes into order shipment fiels (using plugins such as “Woocommerce Shipment Tracking” or “Advanced Shipment Tracking for WooCommerce”). But this manual solution is not possible when you have 100 orders.

I always see this answer from Printful support : “After an order is shipped out, we will send a status update that will appear on the order details, but you would need to set up any customer notifications (like emails) on WooCommerce directly” => NO we cannot setup woocommerce email notifications properly because the tracking info that you return to Woocommerce is being added to “order notes” instead of the “shipment tracking order meta fields”.

=> Every printful user MUST encounter this issue and I don’t understand how they can still use this plugin. Maybe they don’t send tracking number to clients… which is in my opinion Mandatory.

Can Printful Developpers resolve this issue ?
Can someone please help with a complete solution ? Maybe you have a workaround and can share with us ?

Many thanks and I hope we can close once for all this topic.

    Best regards my friends.

  • Hey @newbie752,

Thank you for reaching out to us, we appreciate you bringing this concern to our attention!
To start off, this is not an issue with our plugin, but the way the plugin is set up to work.
We have built our plugin on WooCommerce core and provide tracking in the order notes instead of the tracking fields due to a WooCommerce limitation.

This means that you would need to find your own solution on how to deal with this – whether you decide to use a shipping plugin, provide your customers with tracking links manually or come up with a different solution.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, feel free to send us an email to [email protected]!

    Hi,

I am very surprised with your answer. As you can see many topics has been raised by your clients about that issue but you still ignore it.

I can share my solution/workaround with others : change dropshipper.

    Thanks.

    Hey @newbie752,

We truly appreciate your feedback on this, however this is not a feature we can currently implement due to a limitation on WooCommerce’s end.

We understand if this is a deal breaker for you and hope you find a dropshipper that works for you!

Maybe this is not a feature you can implement but if I have an advice for the Head of IT or Marketing Services, you should probably search for a workaround solution outside of your own developement and explain how to implement an alternative solution, as all of yours customers have the same problem.

This can show your interrest to your clients problem and attrack many others. Instead of just sounding like “No it’s not our problem. Bye and have a nice day.”

    Just my opinion.
    Regards

+1 also very disappointed by the lack of a solution on this issue. This is unacceptable from a company as large as Printful and it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. People have been reporting this issue for more than a year. Your development team is obviously either utterly incompetent or apathetic to our problems because, as a programmer myself, this issue can absolutely be resolved.

At the very least, give us a proper workaround and not the same “not our problem” response that you have been dishing out for months

    Hey @newbie752 and @georgikrastev,

It is important to note that we do offer automatic tracking details – a tracking url is added to each order as an order note.
If you have enabled customer notifications – an order update with this note, along with the tracking link, will be sent over to your customers via email.

As mentioned previously, we won’t add the tracking in the “shipment tracking order meta fields” due to a WooCommerce limitation.

We understand that this might interfere with some other plugins you’re using, however we do not guarantee compatibility with third party plugins.

If you have any additional feedback for us, be sure to reach out at [email protected]!

    Hey @newbie752 and @georgikrastev,

We just added support for the following two plugins, which will make forwarding tracking information to your customers easier:
    – Advanced Shipment Tracking for WooCommerce plugin (FREE)
    WooCommerce Shipment Tracking extension (PAID)

    We hope this helps! ??

Thanks for your message. Can you give the link for support ?
    Cheers

    Hey @newbie752,

    Thank you for your question!
What I mean is that our plugin is now compatible with these two plugins and if you install either of them, you should not see this cause any issues with the Printful + WooCommerce intergration.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, be sure to reach out at [email protected]! ??

Great ! Basically, is that mean that your tracking informations is now automatically updated into the “shipment tracking order meta fields” of woocommerce ?

    Hey @newbie752,

    Thank you for your question!

Our tracking link is still added to the order note due to the limitations of the platform, but these plugins make it possible to do things like add the tracking information in emails, on the order tracking page, etc.

Let us know if you have any additional questions!
