Shield and Malware Scanner

    Apologies for all the questions!

    Could you please tell me if it is advisable to install a malware/virus scanner alongside Shield, or whether the plugin and wordpress scans within Shield should be sufficient? If a malware scanner should be installed, would any particular plugin would be recommended to work with Shield? I was looking at ‘Anti-Malware Security and Brute-Force Firewall’ although this seems to be a firewall as well and may interfere with Shield?

    The scanner that comes with Shield is currently only for changes found in the WordPress core files. The vulnerabilities detection is currently out-of-date due to lack of publicly available vulnerability databases. But, we are currently integrating a commercial vulnerability database into iControlWP to run daily, automated vulnerability scans. Since this is a commercial DB, we can’t provide this in the free plugin.
