When I try to post the link of an imported Facebook event back to Facebook there is no a thumbnail showed. I checked a such link with the Facebook Sharing Debugger and this is the result:

    Warnings That Should Be Fixed
Inferred Property The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
    Missing Properties The following required properties are missing: og:url, og:type, og:title, og:image, og:description, fb:app_id

    Can this be solved?

P.S. Temporary I fixed that with this solution, but probably it isn’t the best.

    Hello @iuriem,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Can you please check Featured images is importing with events. because if featured image is there then ‘og:image’ property will automatically set. Also, URL https://infopsi.md/events/?p=98 gives timeout error so I am not able to get the exact issue.

    Thanks,

Featured image imported with an event is OK. It is there, it is visible and it is associated with the imported new post. But, when I check the link of that new imported post with the Facebook Open Graph Object Debugger I see a list of Warnings That Should Be Fixed:

Inferred Property The ‘og:url’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Inferred Property The ‘og:title’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Inferred Property The ‘og:description’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Inferred Property The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Share App ID Missing The ‘fb:app_id’ property should be explicitly provided, Specify the app ID so that stories shared to Facebook will be properly attributed to the app. Alternatively, app_id can be set in url when open the share dialog.

So, if I understand correctly, this can be because of a) your plugin, b) my theme, or c) this is the actual WP behavior.

Probably, related only to the imported events, your plugin must check if the Open Graph properties are OK, if not, they must be added/corrected.

    Hello @iuriem,

Sorry, I forgot to mention in the last reply about SEO plugin. what SEO plugin is you are using? because WordPress default does not add property like og:image etc. you have to use SEO plugin for that. you can use SEO plugin like “Yoast SEO”.

    Thanks,
