Sharing parts of a database?

I have two websites which have separate domain names and apart from a few bits on the home page and a different contact page share the same information for accommodation, attractions, events. However at the moment they have two separate databases so if I add a new accommodation item in one I need to do it in the other. Is it possible to just share parts of the database between two sites or is there another way to do this?
