When doing a quickedit of older posts (created prior to installing the plugin) eg. to set categories or tags, the posts will be automatically shared as with content updates of such posts.

From my perspective it would be helpful to prevent that (as with the “Don’t share” box in the editor).

    Hi @geemco,

When you do the quick edit changes, the post itself, does it have the “Don’t share this post” checkbox checked or not? I will look into this. Thanks

The post itself has the “Don’t share this post” unchecked. So in general it’s ok that it would be shared on normal edits/updates. It seems that this is also relevant on quickedits.

As a workaround I’ve tried to set the global setting temporarily to “Don’t share” but older posts (i.e. already published) are still shared on quickedits.

What I haven’t tried yet is to temporarily deactivate the global sharing targets i.e. my personal LI profile and a company profile or sharing posts in general, either to avoid having to rush over to LinkedIn to delete the just shared posts prior to anybody noticing them.

I would prefer quickedits rather than normal ones due to the fact that I want to update tags of 600+ posts and so quickedits make quite a difference.

Hi?@geemco, I tried to do a share by updating a post via quick edit, a post which has the Don’t share this post” checkbox unchecked, and I was unable to repeat the situation with the post being shared. Is it possible maybe another plugin is hooking into that action and triggering a full post update? I will see if I can do some more testing. Some of the ideas you mentioned might be good workarounds to solve the issue though if it’s still occurring for you.
