Sharing Buttons Showing up on Every Element after Updating to 3.7
-
After updating from Jetpack 3.6.1 to 3.7, the sharing buttons went from being displayed in one place on the homepage (under the main page content) to about 100 different places on one of our client sites.
These were the only two Sharing options enabled:
– Front Page, Archive Page, and Search Results
– PagesUnchecking Front Page, Archive Page, and Search Results removed the million sharing buttons, but it also removed them entirely from the homepage—even though I went into that page’s editor and specifically enabled the sharing buttons in the hopes that doing so would resolve the issue.
Apparently, the featured sections (Services), Portfolio images, and Gallery items are now being recognized as individual Archive Page (or Search Results?) items, whereas that did not occur in past versions of Jetpack.
Reverting to the previous version of Jetpack resolved the issue, but obviously that is not a desirable solution.
We’re on WP 4.3.1, and all of our plugins are at the latest version. The theme is Impero (YIThemes: https://yithemes.com/themes/wordpress/impero-minimalistic-wordpress-theme/).
I don’t want to publish the client’s website but can share more details in private if desired.
Thank you!
