Sharing Buttons on “Icons Only” not showing share counts

Facebook deprecated some portions of their API, including the method we used to get and display these share counts on these styled buttons. If you’d like to continue displaying those share counts on your site you’ll need to use the official buttons in Settings > Sharing. You can change the dropdown from Icon + text to Official Buttons.

Having same issue, but official Jetpack Icon + Text buttons aren’t showing Facebook share counts anymore on my client’s site too.

As mentioned above, this is due to a change in Facebook’s API. Currently their new API doesn’t give us a way to display sharing totals in our own buttons (or any third-party buttons), but if you switch to the “Official buttons” style at Settings > Sharing in your site’s Dashboard, the count will re-appear. Ok, changed to OFFICIAL BUTTONS but now even though share count shows, Facebook button is missing on mobile views.

Facebook’s official button is seen as a tracker by many ad/tracker blockers, and there isn’t anything we can do about that.

See if there’s any improvement on your mobile device with your ad or tracker blockers switched off.

Thanks for the update on the API issue. Is there a possible path to restore counts to your much nicer looking icons in the near future? Having an issue with the Official Buttons not aligning vertically and prefer your icons.
