    Hi @cameraspots1,

Nice to hear from you again and thank you so much for the feedback, it really is appreciated! ??

Hi, I saw that another user also shared some basemaps. I myself have found that Waymark is also suitable for, for example, NASA basemaps such as illuminating the world. Will share them here.

Amazing! With you permission I think I am going to figure out a way to combine these with the other contributions on the Waymark site.

This also makes me think that once I have the Waymark forum working nicely (see below) I should create a place where users can share their basemap settings with others.

    1. In GTMetrix I saw a url that had a (small) influence on the loading time, while I don’t have a waymark map or link on my frontpage: https://[my-website-url]/wp-content/plugins/waymark/assets/dist/waymark- js/css/waymark-js.min.css?ver=0.9.17.1

An excellent point. I am aware of this, but so far have struggled to get a good solution for only loading these assets when needed. It’s on my list though.

The demo link on the wordpress plugin page is not working to an existing demo site.

Do you mean that the links to see the “Demo” actually link to the home page? If so then this is actually intentional; I moved/merged the “Demo” page to actually be the Waymark homepage… but I get that this could be kinda confusing.

I have also considered adding an area to the forum where users can post links to examples of Waymark in action. These could then be displayed on some kind of Examples page.

My ip is partially blocked on the Waymark website, especially the forum. While I had never visited this one. Maybe some bugs in the spam block

I have been having some issues with this and had a suspission that others were getting blocked… so thanks for mentioning it.

I think I have resolved this, but please do let me know if you have any further issues. These things can be hard to diagnose.

When is the next update coming Joe? Thanks again!

A great question! The latest development release, includes Submissions. This is my first step towards making Waymark a collaberative mapping tool and required major changes to the codebase.

I want to make sure this is stable before releasing it and at the moment I am not aware of anyone else having tried this version. Having said that, the Waymark site has been running the development release for a month now (the Submissions feature is used on the Try the Editor page) and all looks good on my end.

I do plan on spending some time catching up on smaller features and bugs in the near future, which I will post about here and on the development forum, so keep an eye out!

Thanks again for all of the great feedback!

    Joe

    That sounds awesome.

I tried to set up NASA and openweather maps, but can get neither of them to work. All others work fine. For openweathermap it could be that it is because of my API key which supposedly takes a few hours to activate. i will keep re-checking. But NASA doesn’t work at all. At least on my end…

    Hi Snake-Plissken,

It is very important to check the tile link, one mistake in coordinates or api and the map is not showing well. Maybe this list can help you: https://www.trailnotes.org/FetchMap/TileServeSource.html

Also check optimizing plugins and themes, sometimes they can make things different on the front.
All credits to trailnotes.org for the list of course.
