Shariff Wrapper with Inline Related Posts

  • Dear developers,

    thank you for this beautiful and easy-to-use plugin!

    However, there is one problem I encountered today after activating it: The plugin “Inline Related Posts” by IntellyWP doesn’t work correctly anymore. While there’s no error warning or something, it’s feature, a box with a link to another post right in the middle of the article, simply doesn’t show up anymore.

    I’m guessing it’s the shortcode priority but I’m no coder and wanted to ask you about it first. Thank you very much for your help!

    Hi Arno,

    I can confirm the issue and was able to replicate it on my test server. If there is a Shariff shortcode above or within the content, “Inline Related Posts” are not shown anymore. If the Shariff shortcode appears only at the end / after the content it seems to work fine.

    Since it is the first time that such an issue has been reported and since other shortcodes work fine with Shariff, it might take a while to figure out why this happens and might require the help of the authors of “Inline Related Posts” to get know what they are doing differently than other similar plugins that are inserting stuff in the content.

    In the meantime it could be a temporary solution to only add Shariff at the end of the post and not at the beginning.

    Intelly WP say they are working on finding a fix. Did they contact you/did you contact them?

    no, I haven’t heard back from them yet. As soon as they release an update I’ll check back and see if we need to change something as well.
