I want to create a simple 5-column table where the 1st field is “Name”, the 2nd is a dropdown (to select from) “Category”, the 3rd is a dropdown “Description” tied to the 2nd dropdown, the 4th will be an input “Qty”, and the 5th a dropdown “Size”.

I want the users to be able to put their parts in and edit them as well – but not others. When they log in they will see a table of all users collective parts listed.

Just cant seem to get the options I need or I’m going about it wrong..

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

TablePress is a plugin that can create static tables, for display on the frontend of the page. For that, it has an Excel-like user interface for data entry. This does however only offer normal text inputs, but not dropdowns from which predefined values can be chosen. So, I’m afraid that you’ll not be able to achieve this part with TablePress. But maybe normal text input would be an option?

Now, as for users only being able to edit their own table, but not others, the “Advanced Access Rights” feature module might be a solution. This is part of the TablePress Max license plan and allows you to configure which user can edit which table.

    Regards,
    Tobias
