• Hello and thank you very much for this AWESOME plugin!!

It’s really the perfect traduction plugin, and it’s working perfectly!

The only problem (and i’m sorry to say it again, so many people seemed to ask the question…) is the media library share between different languages.

In fact, we have choice to disable media translation sow that we could use in a post a media from a different language (and that’s a really good thing to be able to do it!)
but then, it becomes impossible to translate a media…

I know i’m asking a lot but it’s the only thing missing in this beautiful plugin:
Could it be possible to add a functionality to let the media translation enable but add a button in media picker to use a media from a different language than the post language ?

It would be really awesome ??

Thank’s again for this plugin and for reading me!

    Best,

    Anatole

    Hi!

Sorry I don’t understand your use case.

Sorry to answer so late but I am terribly buzzy…

Thank you for your answer Chubby,

In fact, instead of choosing if I want to enable or disable media translation, I would like to keep media translation enable but to be able to access to other languages medias.

    e.g.:
I create a french post with french medias ; then I create the translated english post with the translated english medias.
I create a second french post with french medias ; I create the translated english post using some french medias (because I’m lazy & don’t need to translate Every media I upload).

    Thank’s for reading me!

    Best,

    Anatole

Chouby, a couple of ideas to get closer to something that is requested oftentimes:

1/ Write a routine that duplicates all your media across all languages (that are not yet translated).

2/ Write a hook that automagically creates all languages when you upload a new image.

That is far from perfect, but at least all images should be available for ordinary image-in-post cases.

We keep image-in-custom-field-in-post for later. ??

I agree with Anatole, it would be very useful to choose case by case if using a translated media or not when writing a post/page.
