    Every Time a transient is expired from shr_api_res-xxxxxxxxxx my site gets bogged down massively. If I make any changes in the Shareaholic control panel it does the same thing. Is there a reason it would be doing this or a way to fix it? Recently the site was moved to SSL.

    It is looking like a specific group of transients.

    @laserjobs Is this new after the move to SSL or has this always been the case? Your MySQL database may need some cleanup operations.

    The site was moved to SSL a couple weeks ago. I did turn off the share counts and Disable server-side Share Counts API. Do you think it is just a matter of the database cleaning up the shareaholic data after the change? Do you recommended settings, reset or just let it keep going at this point?

    Transients example
    a:3:{s:6:”status”;i:200;s:4:”data”;a:4:{s:9:”pinterest”;i:0;s:8:”facebook”;i:0;s:6:”yummly”;i:0;s:11:”stumbleupon”;i:0;}s:8:”services”;a:4:{i:0;s:9:”pinterest”;i:1;s:8:”facebook”;i:2;s:6:”yummly”;i:3;s:11:”stumbleupon”;}}

    @laserjobs It should be quite safe to clear out the Shareaholic related transients if you want to try that. We use the WP-Optimize plugin to keep our own blog’s DB clean, you could try that.

    Well it seems that transients are being created constantly throughout the day and then expiring. Does the plugin still create transients even with the counts off?

    It should not. Share Count cache should only be created if those server-side count calls are being made. Would you mind giving me admin access? Would love to take a look. jay at shareaholic.com

    Following up here. @laserjobs and I addressed this over email.

    We believe it was likely due to a database caching issue with W3 Total cache and Memcached where the data was too big. This was resolved.

    Transients still appears once in awhile but not like before. Like you said probably due to caching issues. Marking it resolved.
