    same issue on all pages/posts

    i installed the aksimet plugin, which enabled me to add the ’email’ button, under “Share this”

    but when you click on it, nothing happens. the print button works fine, just not the email button.

    and i can’t seem to find anything about this issue, or how to resolve it.

    any advice would be appreciated

    it worked on wordpresd.com. we recently switched to wp.org

    Hello there, Andy.

    The email button operates differently depending on what browser you’re using, and if you have an email program installed and active on your computer.

    In other words, you would need an email client set up on your computer so that when you click that share button, it opens up that client and starts a new email.

    Would you be able to try clicking it in different browsers on your computer if you have a client installed, to see if that works for you? Also, if you could have someone on a different device with an email client assigned try it on their device to see if it behaves differently, that would be great for testing.

    Please let us know the results of this troubleshooting and we can go from there. Thanks!

    hiya and thanks so much for your reply – most appreciated, as I’ve been going round in circles all afternoon.

    I’ve tried it on chrome desktop and mobile, and it doesn’t work; I just tried it via MS Edge, and it worked first time.

    I don’t understand why it won’t work on chrome though. And am wondering if it is a chrome issue, or a my computer/smartphone using chrome issue.

    For what it’s worth, it worked for me in Chrome, FireFox and Safari. Are you still having problems today?

    i have been – but i guess it must, somehow, be a problem for me. no it still isn’t working on my dcomputer or mobile

    it works for others, which is all that really matters.

    If you suspect that this is something that’s strictly related to the settings in your computer or mobile, it would be worth checking that again from another device, or maybe by using a different Internet network, to rule out this as the root of the issue.

    It’s good that this is something “local” and it’s not affecting other viewers and users of your site, though it’d be ideal if we can fix the issue also at your end ??
