Share Social Buttons not working

Hi,

I could not see any script error in browser developer console.

Maybe it could be a plugin conflict.
You can try disabling one plugin at a time, clear any cache plugin’s cache content ( if you are using a cache plugin ), clear browser history and re-visit your page to see if the count appears.

I have the same problem. fb counter doesn’t work (but pinterest and google+ work well, for example)
I tried to disable all plugins, but unfortunately it didn’t help

Facebook changed the API used for the share counter without notifying anyone. Here’s an excerpt from a conversation on a WP Slack forum yesterday:

Facebook changed how shares are counted by link in the 2.7 API launched today. They also shut that part down in the 1.0 API which doesn’t actually do versions, so it’s still 1.0 … because Facebook.

And I’m pretty sure given our amount of plugins and themes with sharing buttons that have counts, other people will be affected by it.

If my post is not fully on-topic, I apologize (I won’t write any more posts in this thread).

I’m still using the “full” version found on GitHub. Is there anyone who knows how to fix the social buttons (Facebook and Twitter) on the old Hueman version? I tried copying some of the relevant, new code (found in the Hueman Addons plugin) to sharrre.php in my existing version of Hueman, but it did not make any difference.

I can’t afford any downtime on my site until early next year, so I have to wait until then to update my theme and install and configure the Hueman Addons plugin. I do worry that the transition from the old Hueman version to the new version + addon plugin won’t be 100% smooth …

Anyway, big thanks to @nikeo for updating the theme/plugin and to @bdbrown for amazing support.

@yallaman – I doubt that you can use the code from the current plugin in the old theme. The Facebook API (and maybe others) has changed as has the way the sharebar is constructed. Personally I’d recommend disabling the theme sharebar and installing a social sharing plugin until you can do your upgrade.
