Share Counts Slowing Page Down

    Hello all,

    When I enable share counts, my time for a full page load increases by 4-5 seconds. Does it take a while for the counts to be cached? Any idea why it’s taking so much additional time?

    I ended up disabling the shares on the homepage and all is well.

    Hi there,

    It only takes this additional time when shares are loaded first time (when there are no cached shares) at the webpage. Since then till the share count cache expires, it takes no additional time to load shares, as shares are served from the database of your website. I am assuming you have saved share count cache time in the Miscellaneous section at plugin options page in admin.
