    Hi,
I recently updated CSSC Pro to version 2.8.2.
After update all posts were no longer showing share counts.
I went into the Cresta settings page and noticed that the Facebook App Id fields were now blank.
I had already created a FB app for the site a few years back to use with this plugin. I re-entered the App ID and Secret and now the share counts are showing again.
But, the share numbers are not showing the same amount of shares as before the plugin update.
For example the page in question is now showing 665 shares, but a few days ago it was showing 2.2 thousand shares?

Is there any way to get these old share count numbers back to where they were?
    Thanks,

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @jahsko
Until the old version the plugin calculated the number of shares taking into account the number of shares, the number of comments, and the number of reactions.
Now it only takes into consideration the number of shares.

Take a look at this link

These are the data on your page divided by category.
Do you prefer to have the total number of interactions as before?

    Hi,
If possible, we would prefer to have the total number of interactions shown as before.
Please let me know if this is doable.

    Thanks for the quick response.

In the next update plugin I will insert an option to choose to show only the number of shares (like now) or the total number of interactions.

Big fan (and premium user) here!

I would also love an option to show total interactions.

The new version is now available (version 2.8.4) and Facebook will now show the total interactions (both for free and PRO version).

Hi, installed tthe topmost new 2.8.4 and it worked a while, but now my Facebook App says that

    “Application-Level Rate Limit
    Kansalainen
    App ID: 17618157307005xx
    100% of Limit Used”

and the counter is again 0

Can you say if this is because of CSSC update?

    Hi @petrisaarela
We have just updated the plugin to version 2.8.5 where we increased the cache time to 24 hours (actually now there is a field where you can decide how many hours to set the cache time)
Clearly the more visits you have to your website, the higher the cache time should be, to prevent the Facebook APP from reaching the requests limit ??
We have also added an option that allows you to save the number of Facebook shares in a post meta. This is useful because if the Facebook APP reaches the limit, the box will show the last value obtained by the API instead of showing 0.

For some reason 2.8.5 acts as 2.8.4 concerning loading the Facebook App. I do not know, why.

    Hi @petrisaarela
probably your Facebook API has exceeded the limit for today.
Try to pass a few hours, in this way the API will “re-generate” and with this new update plugin you should no longer have problems.

    Hi,
Firstly, thank you for the prompt support in resolving this issue.
    I’ve updated to 2.8.5.
I see the option to “store FB shares in post meta”, if I select that option, all my share counts drop to 0. I’ve tried increasing the cache time up to 96 hours, but all share counts still show 0 if this is enabled.

I do not see the option to choose between displaying “number of shares or the total number of interactions”, where is that?

Currently my example url is still showing 674 shares when it was at 2.2k.

    Thanks!

    Hi @jahsko
check if the Facebook API have reached the maximum use limit (you can control it from the settings of your Facebook APP).
When the plugin shows 0 shares it means that the Facebook API is not responding (probably because they have reached the limit).
Regarding the second question, now the plugin shows all the interactions, not just the shares. I didn’t add the option, I set it automatically.
For this reason I would wait a few hours (until the cache is cleaned) and see if the count is done correctly.
PS: the cache set at 24 hours I think is the best choice, 96 hours maybe too many ??

Seems, that this is finally Facebook originated problem.

    https://developers.facebook.com/support/bugs/374351493163054/

Fb has somewhere a problem, which causes Facebook App to show 100% load. The consequence is, that Facebook App refuses all calls for an hour –> for example counter calls do not succeed and show therefore 0.

ok, I will check again in a few hours, it looks like my App hit it’s rate limit on 04/19, but it has been around 40% since then…

    @jahsko
Now it works for me, I see 2.3K shares on this page https://abovemag.remax.com/no-1-kw-team-joins-re-max-hallmark/

It looks like our share counts are back to their original numbers,

    Thanks again.
