    Hi Elaine.

Thanks for letting us know about your issue.

It looks like the template picked out for those pages isn’t adding the needed JavaScript onto those pages. One work around for that is to add a Text widget onto a widget area in that template with the following content:

    <script data-cfasync="false" type="text/javascript" src="//s7.addthis.com/js/300/addthis_widget.js#pubid=wp-fa2b2533506b0e4ac8c3919e2764d4d0" async="async"></script>

The biggest drawback to this is that it won’t respect the options you’ve set on the Advanced Settings page of the plugin. Unfortunately, with this plugin we don’t have an alternate way of getting around this.

I see you’re in WordPress mode, where you configure your tools from within WordPress. We have another plugin (AddThis Website Tools) that allows for more troubleshooting with these kinds of issues, but it only supports AddThis mode (where you configure your tools with a free AddThis account at addthis.com). By toggling the header/footer and async options in that plugin, we can sometimes work around these limitations from themes. This functionality isn’t yet available in the Share Buttons by AddThis plugin.

    Thanks,
    Julka

Thanks Julka. I’m confused by this though, since these are specific blog posts, and there is only one post template, so there aren’t any that my client could have mistakenly chosen from.
    Thanks!

    Hi Elaine,

Another common issue is caching plugins. They may have cached a copy of the page before you added the Share Buttons plugin, and that cache still hasn’t expired. There’s usually a way within the caching plugin to tell it to purse it’s cache. However, I’m not seeing any evidence on your site of a caching plugin.

A separate template seems the most likely and I see some evidence of that. Every URL I looked at on your site that has the sharing buttons also has comments and trackbacks at the bottom. All the URLs you linked to above don’t. It could be as simple as a different template for pages v. posts in WordPress, or your site being set up to automatically picking a different template because of the tags put on the article.

    Thanks,
    Julka
