Share Buttons don’t show with Copy Post

    Jetpack Share Buttons don’t show on new posts when I use Jetpack Copy Post to create them.

    Jetpack Share Buttons do show up on new posts otherwise.

    Any insight as to what is going on and how to fix it?

    I see there is a closed thread about this from six years ago, but is this still the case?

    I wonder why I shouldn’t be able to have share buttons on a new post.

    Hi there,

    It looks like this is actually an issue with the block editor – if I set the classic editor as default on my site via the Classic Editor plugin, the sharing buttons appear fine on the copied post, but if I use the block editor I see the same thing you do, so it’s unlikely to be related to any issue from six years ago when the block editor did not even exist yet.

    I have reported the issue to our developers in https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/14117, but for now, edit the copied post, open the Jetpack sidebar in the block editor, and unselect sharing buttons. Click Update. Then select the buttons again, and update the post. Then they should appear when you view the post.

    Hi there,

    Just an update – this issue should be fixed in a future release. I’m not sure if it will be in the next Jetpack update, but if not it should be in the one after that.
