Share buttons and comment box have disappeared

  • I just finished getting my site set up and wrote my first blog post. I have it set so comments only show up on my posts along with my social media share buttons. At first both showed up fine. I went back to fix some typos and the share buttons disappeared. I double checked everything and then my comment box disappeared. I have cleared my cache several times, retraced my steps, etc, and see nothing that could be impeding it. It seems like every third time or so I go to the post page the comment box will show up, but the share buttons have been gone since the first time I saw them.

    My website is https://www.deri-ross.com. I’ve looked at in on Chrome, my Android phone, and Microsoft Edge.

    Are you asking about the boxes on the back-end? or what your visitors see? I ask only because when I visit a post: https://deri-ross.com/blogception-a-blog-post-about-blog-posting-about-blog-posting/

    At the bottom I’m seeing the sharing buttons.

    Thanks for answering. I’m referring to the what visitors see. I just clicked on the link in your response and I see everything now. I think the problem is when I’m on the blog page itself https://deri-ross.com/blog/ they disappear. I also noticed that when I’m on that page my WP admin tool bar at the top (where you can customize or click on the dashboard) disappears, but if I click so that I’m on the post itself, it comes back. BUT, if I click “preview changes” from the post editor, it takes me to the post page, and I can see the comment box, but not the social media share buttons. It’s really strange and frustrating. It won’t impact me in a big way with my site being brand new, but I spent hours today trying to figure it out.

    I think the problem is when I’m on the blog page itself

    This is very dependent on the theme. There are ways of changing that but will be based on how the theme is coded.

    I also noticed that when I’m on that page my WP admin tool bar at the top (where you can customize or click on the dashboard) disappears

    Try using a different theme to see if that still happens. If it does it sounds like a plugin could very well be acting up.
