Shadow effect on “section” block not working

    Hello,

    I have a very weird issue with a block called “section” in Otter. I chatted with the wordpress.com help team, but they did not manage to fix it and told me to ask here.

    I added a product on one of my page, and for that I use the block called “section” and then add a shadow effect.

    When I see my page on the “preview” mode, I can see the shadow effect.

    When I then go on my site, on this page but with the real “live” view, the shadow effect does not appear.

    I tried to create this block via 2 ways: from scratch, and duplicating a block above that already has the shadow effect working. Either way, it does not work in the “real” view.

    Now, I tried to create the same block on another page – a random one – then add the shadow effect. And it works for both the preview and “real” view.

    So basically, I cannot add a section block with effect on one specific page…

    I paste here what the wordpress.com help chat said at the very end of our discussion: “I confirmed the block is added by a third-party plugin. I confirmed the block has the shadow setting enabled”

    Has anyone already had that issue and knows how to solve it?

    Hey,

    That is weird. Can you try to copy the block, remove the original one, and paste it to see if it works? It could be a one-of error due to some combination of settings.

    Also please include the link to that page so we can see. Thank you!

    Can you disable CSS-minification so I could check the generated CSS? Right now your site compresses all the CSS into one so can’t really check.

    Also, can you duplicate the block and see if it works? Thank you!

    I just disabled the minification (or at least I think I did, first time that I am doing this), so you can have a look now. Thanks!

    In my “experiments”, what I did was the following:

    – Duplicate a “working” block and start from there – shows correctly in preview but not in “live” mode
    – Create a section block from scratch and add effect on the same page – shows correctly in preview but not in “live” mode
    – Create a section block from scratch on another page with effects – shows correctly in both preview and live

    So it is just on this URL that I gave you earlier that I have this issue.

    Besides, I believe that not only the shadow effect is disabled, but also other effects: I tried to have a border, it would not show either, and the padding, margin settings do not go through either.

    Just so you know, I did another experiment. I added some CSS on this very specific block that does not work. Just added some random shadow effect to see if it would go through to live mode, and it did.. I have deleted the CSS i just added.

    Not sure if that is a relevant info, I hope that helps.
