    Good Day!

We continue to experience an issue similar to the one reported here and here.

Every 3-5 days (without changing anything in our website – as far as we know), some of our pages return a 404 for images contained in those pages. The console error we typically get says the following:

The resource from “https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/siteground-optimizer-assets/siteground-optimizer-combined-js-588097ad8ce4159abd9128604a5e8e6e.js” was blocked due to MIME type (“text/html”) mismatch (X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff)

    Our current set-up:

Theme: Avada (CSS Compiling Method: File)
Cache Plugin: SG Optimizer (Combine JS Files, Defer Render-blocking JS, Combine CSS Files, Preload Combined CSS, Remove Query Strings from Static Resources, Full Page Caching)
CDN: Cloudflare (HTML, JS, and CSS Minified)

Note: We are not using WP Rocket.

In order to fix our issue, we have to clear cache in the following order:

    (1) Avada: Reset Avada Caches
    (2) SG Optimizer: Clear both Dynamic and Memcached via Site Tools
    (3) Cloudflare: Purge Everything then wait 5-10 minutes
    (4) Browser: Clear cache (browser setting) then hit CTRL + F5 (twice)

We believe SG Optimizer is not “communicating” properly with Avada and/or Cloudflare (Full Page Caching) or vice-versa.

Would appreciate if you can look at this carefully and provide a permanent solution.

As you know, many other clients in this forum have reported similar issues.

    Thank you!

We can eliminate browser cache for sure. Something is modifying the files without triggering the asset regeneration.

Could you disable the Avada caches? Like everything there. I still can’t understand why theme providers keep trying to stuff such functionality with their themes…

    Hi @hristo-sg,

Unfortunately, there’s no way to disable Avada’s caching function(s) at this time.

We have, however, reached out to Theme-Fusion (Avada) asking for a filter that will allow us to do so.

Stay tuned. We will share Theme-Fusion’s feedback and/or filter as soon as received.

    Thank you!

    Hi @hristo-sg,

Following our previous update, please click below for a better look at our issue.

Again, we’re waiting for Theme-Fusion’s reply to our request. Stay tuned.

    Thank you!

I don’t know why you can’t disable it ?? It is totally useless since you have full page caching in front of it and all the minifications done by SGO. All you will get from it is conflicts and duplication of functionality…

    Hi @hristo-sg,

As promised, we received feedback from Theme-Fusion (Avada) Support. Their reply:

If the compiler is disabled nothing is cached and so there is no specific function created to clear any cache (as we do not have any caching mechanism).

The performance options we do give can all be disabled which allows the user to make use of their own plugin/setup if needed.

So, in short, it appears Avada’s caching functions are built into its CSS and JS Compilers.

To disable Avada’s caching functions, the user needs to disable the following in Avada’s Settings:

    Path:

WP Dashboard > Avada > Options > Performance

    Settings (To Disable Avada Caching):

    CSS Compiling Method: Disable
    Load Media-Queries Files Asynchronously: Off
    Enable CSS Variables: Off
    Enable Critical CSS: Off
    Enable JS Compiler: Off

We are now using the above Avada settings and are monitoring our original issue.

If we experience the same issue again (after disabling Avada’s caching functions), we’ll open a new topic.

    Hopefully not ??

    Cheers!
