Hi, I uninstalled W3 total cache since I am a sitegorund user and the support stated that it would be better for me to use the SG optimizer. Its a really good plugin to be honest.
My question is that for image optimization, I am using Optimole which has fantastic reviews and it uses its cloud services for better results.

I came to choose Optimole due to many people recommending it after comparing it to other image optimization plugins such as Smush. Optimole was usually 1st or 2nd compared to others but unfortunately, I could not find SG Optimizer’s image optimization in these “battles” to determine the best image optimization plugin.

Firstly, you guys should definitely upload a match up of your optimization against other well-known image optimization plugins because that would allow the average user to know how good SG Optimizer is. And this is why I wrote this question. Since I am a siteground and sg optimizer user, would it be better/faster if images were optimized using sg optimizer or is it not as simple as that?

This is why i suggested the match up thing above so we avg users could have statistics to see if the image optimization by sg optimizer is truly better.

Could you be as forthcoming with your answer and let me know. I would ideally want to remove Optimole (not because it is not good – because it is) but because it would make more sense using sg optimizer for both my cache and optimization needs. Do you have any statistics of Sg optimizer like, for example, on average it reduces image sizes by 80-90% or something like that?

    Thank you guys

    Take care

I prefer if such comparissons are made by a third party. That’s the first time I hear about Optimole and probably they are doing a good job. Anyway, thing with image optimization is that it’s a cosntant ballance between size and quality. So, it depends on your particular website which one will work best for you. Right now, we use what we believe are the best image processing binaries gifsicle, jpegoptim and optipng.

Yes, I wish third parties had done such tests but I do not see any. Hopefully in the future.

Edit: Unfortunately, when I try to optimize existing images, the progress bar does not move. It’s stuck on 0. I’ve cleared the cache too hoping that would help but nothing.

    Edit 2: It’s working now!

Another question. I did not want to start a new thread but I just used Shortpixel and clearly say it reduce the size of one 62 kb pic to 28 kb or so. However, when I use SG optimizer, the file size remains the same. Am i missing something? Is there any comparison (before and after) where one can see the image quality and compare size differences. i really want to stick with SG but how do i even check if the images have indeed been optimized.

    Thanks
