SFTP support

All my FTP servers work with SFTP, but unfortunately Backup Scheduler doesn’t seem to support this. This way I can’t backup my site remotely.
As SFTP seems quite common, is there something on the roadmap to support this protocol?
It would very much increase the usefulness of Backup Scheduler for me, which already is a great tool.
