• Hi,

Trying to set up the export of backups to a server using SFTP, fully functional and already tested with other clients such as Filezilla and a terminal, I notice the systematic error: “SFTP connection error: Could not login with username: myuser, host: A.B.C.D” when myuser is the actual user on the remote host at address A.B.C.D.

The SFTP port to be used is 65002 and that’s what in the SFTP setting..

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

Can you check and see if you may have some special characters in your FTP or password which may brake the connection? If so try using some username and password containing normal chars and see how it goes.

Hi, and thanks @jimiero for the answer.

Yes, there are some mandatory special characters in the password, according to the password policy on this SFTP server.

I could try the xCloner connection via SFTP on another SFTP server where the account gets no special characters in the user’s password and it worked.
But then, you know many servers now require for any password at least N characters, numeric and lower/uppercase characters, so… what can be done on the plugin side to take this into account?
