Several “Page” Issues

First, when I create a new page, the Author of the page doesn’t show up. Is there any way to set this so the author (& the IP) is logged into the page?

Secondly, The comments feature doesn’t show either. When I go to write page, on the right hand side the boxes to “allow Comments, allow pings” are both checked, yet when the page is published, there isn’t any way to add comments to the page.
