I extracted the ID from the HTML <form> code that PayPal provided and inserted it into the PayPal Account on the several different PayPal plugin settings. GiveWP is by far the best.

However, with all PayPal interfaces I cannot see the account I want to connect.
The button is inserted into the page with the [paypal-donation] shortcode. When I test my site on a hosts.cx account, PayPal responds with an “Account not active” message. The same will happen if I just use my PayPal email address.

However, when I create an HTML page with the <form> code they sent all goes well and a donation is accepted and applied and in the account.

I am using Windows 10, WordPress 5.6, Elementor Hello theme, GiveWP 2.9 donation plugin, Elementor Pro for the shortcode plugin for the button.

The provided link is probably useless because the button is not connecting.

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hey @mijstrebor,

    Glad you reached out.

What do you mean by “code that PayPal provided”? If you are using GiveWP, you don’t need any code from PayPal, you only need to add your credentials on the GiveWP administration dashboard under Donations > Settings > Payment Gateways > PayPal.

We have a starting guide here https://givewp.com/getting-started/ that helps you to set up your donation platform, so you don’t need any code from PayPal to make that work.

Please let us know if you have further questions on this or need any additional assistance!
