Setup Issue

  • Hello!:)
    I am wanting to set my site up so ONLY “MY” comments appear on the main page.. all USER comments appear in the Category pages.. this will remove a LOT of spam off the main page.

    Also can the categories show unread posts by user, so they know if a NEW comment has been posted?

  • What anti-spam measures are you taking ?

    In a normal setting nobody’s comments appear on the “main page” – if we both think of that as index.php.
    Also there are no comments on the “category pages” – if you mean category archives.
    I don’t know of any feature and/or plugin showing unread posts.

    And the second part – you want the Since Last Visit plugin from https://www.alexking.org

    Well, all I did was made a sub page at https://www.jrbarnard.com/wedding/blog/

    I will be moving that when we figure out how this really works and get all the kinks worked out.

    So far, every time “I” post, it posts to the main page. I think it is the “Write” but.. if someone posts a “comment” then it does not post there. So, I want to restrict “Writes” and allow only “comments”

    Make sense?
