“setup customer chat” is not working from chrome browser

Thanks for the report. We just tried it a moment ago and can’t seem to repro the issue. Could you please retry it again after clearing browser caches? If it’s still not working, let us know and we will investigate further.

Thanks for the reply. I cleared browser caches and tried again but still not working from chrome browser. It shows a blank popup page with the same console errors.

I have the same exact issue plus something more interesting.

I was trying to set it up on a new site and it did the white screen thing as mentioned above.

However, I have a different site, markjosephszymanski.com, that FB chat has been implemented on for months. So, I went to check on the status of that plugin and the configuration options are not displaying. So, the plugin is still working on the frontend, but on the backend, it’s asking me to set it up.

EDIT: Just tried going through a Chrome incognito tab. Setup button trigger calls to FB and asks me to log in. It logs me in but white screens after that. Problem calling to the appropriate authorization protocol?

Okay, so there’s another thread like this from a couple of days ago. The guy said using Edge worked (yuck).

I tried it and it looks like it worked. Not ideal, and the problem isn’t fixed but it’s a temporary workaround for you guys.

Does it happen to only Chrome Browser? Can you try if the issue persist in other browsers? Also, could you let us know the Chrome Browser version that you are using so we can try to repro it and debug?

Yeah, it’s only happening with chrome browser. I checked with Mozilla, Microsoft Edge, Opera browser and did not find any issue with them.
I am using Chrome Version 83.0.4103.61 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I have the same problem with Google Chrome version 81.0.4044.138, however in Android version 81.0.4044.138 if it works.

In other browsers I did not find any problem.

It seems like the issue only happen for select browsers and might be transient and some users can resolve it by clearing the browser cache.

If the issue persists for you after clearing the browser cache, please provide the following so we can look into the issue further.
– Screenshot of the blank page where it doesn’t load
– Version of the browser that you are using
– Screenshot of the error from the browser console (right click –> inspect –> Console tab). It will have the error message on why it doesn’t load and that will help us narrow down the issue.
