• Hi,

I’ve a completely customised homepage using CSS, jquery and HTML. I would like to set this up as the static page for my wordpress installation. I found the methods to setup a static page but that only includes some text. I’ve some images and background transitions all comes together in homepage. How to setup that as my homepage.

    Pls advise. Thanks in advance!

  • You can wrap a customized page template around the page you designate in WordPress as your static home page.

Basically, you create a page template which includes whatever you want on the page: text, images, content etc.

Use the ‘Page Attributes’ metabox in WordPress admin page screen to assign the page to the template you created.

If you don’t see the metabox, check the screen options tab to make sure it isn’t hidden.

I think you best post this under ‘themes and templates’.
Also post your URL so we can have a look at the problem.

Also, I find some context is missing to understand your question.
Are you talking about a child theme that you’ve modified? Which theme?
Do you mean that you want a home page that does not include posts but just a page that you can add text to?

If that is the case, then you should create a new page, call it home, add it to your menu, remove the default home from the menu, and ensure that the page you created has the default template as opposed to the showcase template.
