settings when hosting own email but not website, contact form 7 no emails
-
I have a friend whose website is using a contact form 7 to send emails. The website is hosted by a hosting company, but his company is hosting his own email. To do this, where his domain name is hosted the “A” record points to the IP address for his website. The “MX” (mail exchange) record is pointed to his server.
The contact form used to work, but no longer does. We were told by the hosting company that we may need to use WP Mail SMTP plugin to fix the problem.
My questions are
1. how to setup the “From” email – does this need to be an email from his company’s server?
2. Do I need to select the “Force From Name”
3. Would I choose the “Other SMTP” option under these circumstances?
4. Do I select the “Set the return-path to match the From Email” optionIf yes for #3 above,
How do I set the “SMTP host” option, Encryption, SMTP Port, Auto TLS and Authentication optionsThank you for any help you can provide.
