• Resolved Lexe

I have WordPress 5.9.3 installed and using MemberPress.. I tried to update the Privacy page but it is not found when browsing to it. Also, after doing extensive research, I learned the ‘Settings > Privacy’ option is missing from the menu.

Please advise If I need to reinstall WordPress.. This would be the painful option and a workaround would be preferable.

    Thanks in advance!

  • I assume that you have administrator rights?

Can you deactivate all plugins? Does the option appear in the menu again?

What happens if you call /wp-admin/options-privacy.php directly?

I cannot reproduce this. This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

    I tried both suggestions:

    • What happens if you call /wp-admin/options-privacy.php directly?
    • When I tried this, I received the following message:

“Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

I checked the actual files under the wp-admin folder and it seems the permissions are set properly.

I also deactivated the plugins and activated the Twenty-two theme but there was no change in the issue and the Privacy link is still missing from the Settings menu.

Are there any tables I should look at the database? do I need to add a specific config parameter?

      Thanks again

Ok, I fixed the issue and found that the option to edit the Privacy settings was not enabled for ‘Administrator’ in the Members plugin I’m using with MemberPress.

Oh well, thanks for the suggestions guys but at least I got a clue that it was a permissions thing!

    This is a closed issue!

    Thanks Again!
