    Hello,

I’m trying to use this plugin on one of my sites and for some reason none of the settings are working. I have enabled it and am using the same settings as my other websites which all sit on the same hosting environment which is why it’s odd this one isn’t working.

I have tried uninstalling and installing again but this hasn’t helped. I also tried activating the debug mode so I could see if there were any errors but nothing. It’s as if everything I try isn’t having an effect.

When running the compatibility test, the mod_ modules are coming back as not detected but this is also the same for my other sites I have, which are using W3 total cache successfully so I’m not taking much notice of these.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? I’ve tried everything including changing themes and deactivating plugins and nothing I do works.

Do you see a file wp-content/w3tc-config/master.php in your website? If not, then it probably doesn’t have the rights to create the w3tc-config directory, resulting in no settings being saved, leaving you with default settings. If you don’t know how to change the permissions, you might try storing the options in the database.

    Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I’ve checked the folder you mentioned and I can see the file in there but still no settings being applied to the website.

Is there something else which might be causing this? As I mentioned previously, the website sits on the same hosting space as my others and they all work perfectly.

Did you upload the file yourself as a copy of others, or did the website generate the file? Maybe permissions on the file/directory prevent the plugin from reading it.

Hi, the website generated it for me. I’ve tried uninstalling the plugin and have deleted any files created by W3C but still no luck :/

Btw guys, managed to fix this issue in the end!

It was because I didn’t have the correct HTML syntax in my header file and wasn’t starting the document with <!DOCTYPE html>.

Just incase any of you run into the same issue as me in the future!
