• Hi, there, I have loved this plugin because it has made my site function but now, with a surprise update of WordPress from 4.1 to 4.1.1, the plugin appears to no longer save settings. I also was surprised when the plugin showed up twice in the plugins list. I uninstalled and reinstalled and most of the settings are still there but there is one that is crucial to making my site work. I have a widget for a category drop down that makes my hard-coded in themes category drop down work. I don’t really want the second one to show so I’ve set this to Show If User is Logged In. That had been enough to make things worked, logged in or not. Now, with the 4.1.1 update, I’ve tried resetting this to show, hide, no visibility settings at all, to no avail. It shows when logged in, doesnt’ show when not logged in and nothing I change makes any difference. My entire navigation is built on having this work. I love this plugin and am not very happy with the surprise WP update (which I have made sure never happens again). Any help would be appreciated.

    If you could point me to where I could change this in the code, I’d do it. Not ideal but I need to get the site running while I figure out a workaround or another sort. My company’s busiest time of year, naturally! ??

    @juliedc,

    I’m not aware of any changes with 4.1.1 that might have effected Simply-Exclude. But let me do some benchmark testing in the morning and I’ll report back.

    @juliedc,

    I just did some testing on Simply-Exclude under WP 4.1.1 and there is no issue I can see which prevent the settings from saving.

    Just a note all the Simply-Exclude settings are saved via AJAX not a traditional form submit. So when you click a change you should see the field background go yellow then fade to normal. If you see it red then you have some conflict with your AJAX calls. Normally this is some other plugin or script outputting a PHP Warning which is effecting the AJAX reply.

    I can help debug but would need access to your site. Don’t post them here. If you want me to take a look please go to my contact form https://www.codehooligans.com/contact/ and provide the details.

    Hi Paul, Thanks for this – Reinstalled WP, then found another setting that I had not seen before – it all works now. Thank you so much for responding!!!

    @juliedc

    What other setting did you find? I’m having the same issue. Simply exclude settings won’t save..

    Thank you

    Hi Chris, I just reinstalled WP and it worked. Try that then snoop around, maybe there is something else?

    Ok, I lied. It was working, now it isn’t. If anyone has had any luck with a fix, would love help. Thanks!
