• I’ve been trying to find a way to have my youtube videos on my pages to show up as a specific size by default. I’ve looked around google, stackflow, wordpress.com, etc etc etc. I can’t seem to find the answer.

I was reading threads such as https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/re-size-embedded-youtube-videos?replies=7

    It mentions to:
At Settings -> Media in your Dashboard, what size do you have set for “Maximum size for auto-embeds” ?

My settings -> Media doesn’t show any of those types of options. It only shows:
    Thunbnail size
Check box for Crop thumbnail to exact dimensions (normally thumbnails are proportional)
    Medium Size
    Large size
check box for Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders

Can anyone tell me a solution? I’m using Version 3.5.1

    Thanks!!!!!

    Hi theotherlebowski
Thanks so much for this Youtube plugin for wordpress. It works great.

I was looking through the documentation and couldn’t find out if there was a shortcode I can put into my page.php file to have the youtube videos show up with a default size of &w=981&h=551 without having to type in the width and height all the time. I’m trying to make it dummy proof for anyone who may use the site and trying to prevent anyone from custom sizing a video.

    Thanks!

according to the plugin you should have a new button available in the visual editor when creating posts and pages that when clicked should give you access to shortcode creation.

as far as i can tell the plugin also handles all youtube video embeds you include in posts and pages. put the youtube URL on it’s own line and the plugin will detect it and handle it according to the settings you specify under the dashboard menu of Settings -> EmbedPlus…

    hope that helps ??

    Thanks again theotherlebowski

This plugin definitely helps out. It will make it so other users will be able to easily embed the Youtube videos. I checked under the Settings ->EmbedPlus and unfortunately, they dont offer a setting to set up a default height and width. I guess the size is something the users will have to deal with

    Thanks again ??
