Settings gone when migrating to another server

  • I am moving a site from one server to another, but for some reason the Moesia settings I have used on the old server will not follow over to the new server. Yet I have copied every single file + the database and imported it to the other server.

    Any ideas? Is there a workaround?

    Can you please make sure that database information in wp-config.php file is correct and up to date?

    thanks for your prompt response.

    Yes, the database credentials is ok. If not I would not be able to login to the site. The pages are there, media, posts etc, but the settings for the theme is all gone, e.g. the big image is reset to that photographer.

    I have absolutely no idea what this can be caused by. My only theory is that the settings are stored elsewhere, but that would not make any sense because the database user has access to this database alone. I am completely washed out on ideas ?? and I appreciate any hints on what could be wrong.

    That options should be stored in theme_mods_moesia option within wp_options table.

    Can you please check if your options are there?

    Hi @romanbon,

    the problem is found and of course I did something, the same thing that I did to all my other sites, it’s just that it was only with this particular site that thee was a problem with it.

    When I moved the site, I also added a certificate and changed all occurances of https://mydomain.com to https://mydomain.com . It seems that this was the problem because when I removed the certificate and reloaded the database without https on those records that contained that, it started to work again.

    Strange though that it worked with the other 15 sites, but not this one. Any idea why it is like that?
