Settings automatically applied to entire Multisite network

I added W3 Total Cache to the Multisite I am building and would like to have some of the settings on a per site basis. However, when I go in to the “General Settings” on the Performance tab of the Network, I do not have the option to unselect “Apply the settings above to the entire network” – it is grayed out and automatically checked. Any ideas how I can uncheck these options?
