how about trying to deactivate/activate EM? also, try to turn-on WP_DEBUG to see if there’s any other error.

thank you. deactivate/activate EM has no impact. if i turn on the WP_DEBUG mode i got many error messages, but no one from EM. i will try to deactivate all other plugins..

after deactivating all other plugins same issue occured!

Okay, it may well be a theme issue then – can you try reverting to the default theme and trying again please?

    Thanks,

i try it with twenty eleven – same problem..

if it still doesnt’ work with plugins deactivated and your theme on default twentytwelve, then chances are there’s some issue with your server settings.

check your php error logs to see if something stands out. also, try with WP_DEBUG enabled but with all the plugins/themes deactivated.

but 2 versions of EM before it worked fine for me.
in Debug mode and without other activated plugins same problem. no php errors occured.

Are other settings in WordPress admin affected or do they work properly – things like the standard settings panel, etc.?

no, all other settings work as usually.

Don’t know if this will help you but I found this answer from an old thread

The problem is in your webserver configuration, you should check the error log file from apache concerning your website and you will find out what is the problem. It is a security module in apache or php I don’t remember exactly the name but reading the error log helped me to find the solution.

i will downgrade EM and test it again..

i downgraded to v5.2.5 for testing this issue – everything works fine and changes are stored. upgraded to new version: problem occured again.. for me, this workaround is acceptable untill next update or so on..

problem is, if we can’t replicate the issue, there’s nothing for us to fix. whilst I have made some changes recently to the settings page, it works for the majority, so there must be something specific to your install causing the issue.

i do not believe it, cause i work with WP 3.5.1 and problem occured with the default theme too. what could be this something specific?
