Settings API for user profile page?

    Hi, is it possible to use the Settings API when it comes to add new user profile fields or I have to use show_user_profile and edit_user_profile as explained by Justin Tadlock in his blog? I can’t find a valid slug-name for the profile.php page which I need for the function add_settings_field.

  • No, you can’t use the Settings API there.

    The best thing we can hope for is the Fields API project to one day take off and be accepted into core. That way, we don’t have to know 10 different ways to integrate form fields in core WP. There hasn’t been a lot of movement on that though.
