Settings??

  • Could someone please explain exactly what the settings do? There are zero instructions for the most important part of installation, only ‘Fill out all sections of the settings page.’ HOW? What do all these settings do? Outgoing email limitation? What outgoing mail? The Getting Started documentation should probably start at… getting started! I am so frustrated that I deactivated it and won’t be using it until I understand what I am supposed to do to use it.

    The documentation has everything that you need but it’s a little difficult to interpret at the moment, but I believe that’s being looked into.

    You need to enter the information into the settings page on the dashboard in the various places, including adding your privacy policy page and registering the cookies your site uses and what your users need to consent to.

    Once you have that up and running you should see the bar appear but in order to make the cookie consent work you need to use the helpers provided in the documentation, placed in your functions.php.

    I am going to improve documentation. But it is hard to push all improvements in time for GDPR and have perfect documentation with videos and all that. I want all that. I just need to wrap up what I’m doing to get into improving it.

    Also, if you look at the top of your screen, on the right, you should see a little help thing. These texts are also being reviewed since some things are changing but it does explain what those things are.

    Also, for V2(release later today) I am adding a little information icon next to each option with a tooltip with more explanation of what each thing is.
