Setting Up With An Account I Previously Created

Hello. When trying to set up the plugin from my WordPress dashboard I get the following message, “An account with this email address already exists. Please log in using your WordPress.com email and password.” When I click the WordPress.com link I get then get this message, ” Whoops! There was a small systems error. Please try refreshing the page and if the error is still there drop us a note and let us know”. I should add that I previously created an account successfully but had to deactivate the plugin in due to some troubleshooting with my site.
I’m not sure why this issue is present considering I’m the only admin on my site and I’m logged in on that account in order to view and activate/deactivate the plugin. I have logged out and logged back in, but still gives me the same message when clicking on the settings link via my plug-ins page. Any ideas how to fix this issue? Thanks.
