• I am new to RSS and need help getting RSS setup on my blog.

How do you setup a RSS account and then link it to the blog?

segcost: You must really be new to RSS, because what you said didn’t make any sense.

RSS is just another way of looking at your blog. It’s a list of your posts (called a “feed”) that is read by programs (called “feedreaders”).

WordPress already produces 3 or 4 types of feeds automatically, and you don’t have to do anything to enable them or set them up.

Okay I setup feedburner so other people can “link” to my blog when it updates. Not sure if it works correctly.

https://www.teamisportz.com/blog/ – you can see RSS to the right. I subscribed to both Yahoo and Google and when I log into my Yahoo and Google accounts I don’t see the feeds being updated when I post a new topic on the blog?

I read something about permalinks and ISS (I am using Windows IIS). I thought I had that setup correctly but maybe that is not working correctly which in turn messes up the RSS Feed?

Yahoo and Google don’t update instantly. They will get to it within a few hours or so.

Feedreaders running on your own machine would update the instant you updated. Yahoo and Google cache their feed hits and spread them out.

    Perfect. That answers that question.

I don’t even see my “feed” listed under Yahoo – does it take awhile if a new feed is created to even be able to see the “feed” (not the updated content)

I added another person’s blog to my Yahoo feed but when I add mine it doesn’t even show up?

When you say “host” your own feed. Is that the “mybrand” by feedburner? If we “host” that then our updates will be distributed right away?
